Closing time slots and periods
Several tools let you close or hide time slots, an entire calendar, or access to booking. Choose the right one for the situation.
Choose the right method
| Need | Solution |
|---|---|
| Block the same time slots every week on an ongoing basis | The padlock on the Close Time Slots page |
| Close a court for a dated period (works, off-season) | The Temporary Closure in the calendar record |
| Prevent booking based on the clock time (at night, for example) | The System Time Closures |
| Reserve certain courts for certain subscriptions or periods | Authorized calendars and Advanced Planning for subscription plans |
| Block time slots occasionally (lesson, tournament) | A booking with a label, optionally repeated |
Lock recurring time slots with the padlock
- Go to Administration›Settings›Booking›Close Time Slots.
- Open the relevant calendar: a grid shows the time slots for each day of the week.
- Select the time slots to close. Enter replacement text for the Closed label if needed.
- Use Close all time slots or Open all time slots to process a full day.
- Click Save.
Closed time slots appear in gray with a small padlock on the booking tables.
Close a calendar for a dated period
To close a court from date A to date B, enable the Temporary Closure section in the calendar record: start and end dates, optional comment, and the Hide Completely option to remove it from the user view.
Restrict booking based on time
- Go to Administration›Settings›Booking›System Time Closures.
- Enable Enable System Time Closures.
- For each day of the week, define the period during which booking is closed, for example from 10:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m.
- Click Advanced Configuration to target specific subscriptions, calendars, or time slots. Click Add a Closure to combine several rules.
- Click Save.
During the closure, users can sign in and view calendars, but they cannot book. Club managers are not affected. Advanced configuration lets you, for example, open booking for weekend time slots only from 2:00 p.m. the day before, and only on padel courts.
The Random delay for booking opening option assigns each user a random delay of a few minutes each day when booking opens, so everyone gets a chance to access the most popular time slots.
Reserve calendars for certain subscriptions
Each subscription plan defines its accessible calendars via the Authorized Calendars & Number of Days for Booking option in the Permissions tab, in Administration›Users›Access Rights›Subscriptions. For time-slot-by-time-slot rules based on periods, use advanced planning.
Automatically cancel incomplete bookings
When a user opens a booking to find a partner, you can have it cancelled automatically if it is not completed in time:
- Go to Administration›Settings›Booking›Automatic Cancellations.
- Enable Enable automatic cancellation of incomplete bookings.
- Set the two rules: the delay before the start of the time slot from which an incomplete booking is cancelled, and the minimum time always left to the user after creation to find partners.
- Choose the behavior for bookings created too late to benefit from this minimum time: Allow booking without automatic cancellation — the subscriber accepts the risk of playing alone — or Prohibit booking.
- Click Save.
A check takes place every minute: cancellation is therefore immediate as soon as the deadline is reached, and the freed time slot can be booked again straight away.
A booking is considered open when the subscriber books alone without choosing a partner, or when they book with partners and explicitly select find a partner. In both cases, other subscribers can then add their name to the time slot.
This feature relies on the booking opening and completion option, which can be configured in the Permissions tab of each subscription plan: without it, no booking is ever “incomplete” and the setting has no effect.
