Improve SEO and measure audience

Improve your club’s presence on Google and Bing, and measure your site traffic with Google Analytics.

Enable and customize SEO

  1. Go to AdministrationCustomizeWeb IntegrationGoogle & Bing SEO.
  2. Select Enable SEO on major search engines: your public pages can then be indexed by Google, Bing, and other search engines.
  3. For each public page (home page, photos, contact form, online registration form), customize the Title (maximum 60 characters) and the Description (maximum 160 characters).
  4. Enter up to 20 keywords in Keywords, separated by commas, that represent your organization.
  5. Click Save.

A preview under each page shows you how the result will appear in search engines. Clear the activation option if you no longer want your pages to be indexed.

A good title includes the club name, the city, and the activity (for example, “Tennis Club de Lyon - Online booking”). The description should make users want to click: it is displayed under the link in search results.

Measure audience with Google Analytics

  1. Create a property in Google Analytics (with a Google account) and retrieve your measurement ID.
  2. Go to AdministrationCustomizeWeb IntegrationGoogle Analytics.
  3. Paste the ID into the Analytics ID field, then click Save: data collection starts immediately on all pages of the club site.

The expected ID starts with G- (current Google Analytics 4 properties). Older UA- IDs are also accepted.

To check the installation, open the “Realtime” report in Google Analytics in another tab, then browse the club site: your visits should appear live.

Avoid skewing statistics with your own visits

  1. In AdministrationCustomizeWeb IntegrationGoogle Analytics, enable Exclude certain profiles from statistics.
  2. Select the profiles to ignore (for example, administrators), then save.

Visits from users with these profiles will no longer be counted: your statistics will reflect the real activity of your players and visitors.

This is far from a minor detail in a small club: two or three administrators who open the application twenty times a day can account for half of the measured traffic.
