Install a booking kiosk at the club

Kiosk mode turns a club-house computer into a self-service booking station: calendars are displayed continuously, and users sign in on site to book or check in for their presence.

Enable kiosk mode on a club computer

  1. On the relevant computer, sign in with your administrator account.
  2. Go to AdministrationSettingsBookingKiosk Mode & Check-in.
  3. In the Kiosk Mode Status box, click Activate.

The club home page is then replaced by the booking calendars with a sign-in form. Kiosk mode can be active on several computers at the same time. To go back, click Disable from the same screen.

When you click the activation button, you are immediately signed out of your session on this computer: the kiosk is intended for users, not for administration.

Reactivate the kiosk after a power outage

Kiosk mode may be disabled when the computer is powered off. To avoid this, copy the Permanent Activation URL displayed on the configuration screen and set it as the web browser start page. When the computer restarts, the kiosk opens on this page and reactivates kiosk mode if necessary.

Configure the kiosk session and display

From AdministrationSettingsBookingKiosk Mode & Check-in, adjust the kiosk behavior, then click Save:

  • Session Duration: the session expires automatically if the user forgets to sign out.
  • Logout after booking: the user is signed out as soon as their booking is confirmed.
  • Number of Days: navigation depth in the calendars for visitors.
  • Zoom and Display completed time slots: calendar reading comfort.
  • Display names on time slots: hide names if you want to preserve player privacy.
  • Scroll Calendars Automatically: useful when all calendars do not fit on the screen, with an adjustable rotation interval.
  • Virtual Keyboard: for touchscreen kiosks or kiosks without a physical keyboard.
  • Immersive Mode: disables all tabs (home, messaging, my account) except booking.

Reserve certain calendars for the kiosk or the web

The Prohibit Booking Based on Context option distinguishes bookings made at the club (active kiosk mode) from those made remotely on the web. Select the calendars prohibited in each context: for example, you can make a court bookable only from the club-house kiosk, while the others remain open for online booking.

Secure the self-service station

For a fully locked-down station, combine three protections: the application’s kiosk mode, the full-screen “kiosk” mode offered by most web browsers, and an operating system session with limited rights and no access to other software.

Require booking check-in

Check-in requires the user to confirm their presence at the club, on the kiosk, before playing. This helps you make sure that each booking is honored.

  1. From AdministrationSettingsBookingKiosk Mode & Check-in, click Kiosk Check-in at the top of the screen.
  2. Enable Activate Kiosk Mode Check-in and select the relevant calendars.
  3. Set the Time before the start of the time slot and the Delay after the start of the time slot: the time window, in minutes, during which check-in is possible.
  4. Click Save.

For a booking with several players, check-in by a single participant is enough, regardless of which one.

Choose the check-in method

  • By default, the user signs in to their account on the kiosk and confirms their presence.
  • Easy Check-in (QR Code): the user scans a QR Code to sign in and check in from their mobile device.
  • Check-in Without Login: check-in is done without entering credentials.
With check-in without sign-in, a user can check in for their own booking, but also for other users’ bookings. Choose the QR Code if you want to ensure that everyone checks in for themselves.

Apply penalties for bookings without check-in

  • Automatically Cancel Bookings: once the authorized period has passed, the time slot is released and becomes bookable again. Cancelled bookings remain visible in the booking log.
  • Temporary account suspension if no check-in: the user who did not check in can no longer sign in or book for the selected number of days.
Check-in requires kiosk mode to be active on at least one club computer. Accounts with administration rights are not subject to check-in rules: use a standard user account to test the feature.
