Setting up an on-site booking kiosk
Kiosk Mode turns a club-house computer into a self-service booking station: the calendars are displayed continuously and users log in on site to book or check in their presence.
Enabling Kiosk Mode on an organization computer
- On the computer concerned, log in with your administrator account.
- Go to Administration›Settings›Booking›Kiosk Mode & Check-in.
- In the Kiosk Mode Status box, click Activate.
The organization's home page is then replaced by the booking calendars together with a login form. Kiosk Mode can be active on several computers at the same time. To revert, click Disable from the same screen.
Reactivating the kiosk after a power cut
Kiosk Mode may be switched off when the computer is powered down. To avoid this, copy the Permanent Activation URL shown on the configuration screen and set it as the start-up page of the web browser. On restart, the kiosk opens on this page, which reactivates Kiosk Mode if needed.
Adjusting the kiosk session and display
From Administration›Settings›Booking›Kiosk Mode & Check-in, adjust the kiosk behaviour then click Save:
- Session Duration: the session expires automatically if the user forgets to log out.
- Logout after booking: the user is logged out as soon as their booking is confirmed.
- Number of Days: how far ahead visitors can browse the calendars.
- Zoom and Display completed time slots: reading comfort of the calendars.
- Display names on time slots: hide names if you wish to protect players' privacy.
- Scroll Calendars Automatically: useful when all the calendars do not fit on the screen, with an adjustable rotation interval.
- Virtual Keyboard: for kiosks with a touch screen or without a physical keyboard.
- Immersive Mode: disables every tab (home, messaging, my account) except booking.
Reserving certain calendars for the kiosk or the web
The Prohibit Booking Based on Context option distinguishes bookings made on site (Kiosk Mode active) from those made from outside on the web. Select the calendars that are blocked in each context: you can, for example, make one court bookable only from the club-house kiosk, while the others remain open to online booking.
This is a simple answer to the most common complaint after bookings go online: "we can never find a free court when we drop by the club". Reserving one or two courts for the kiosk gives on-site players access to them.

Requiring players to confirm their presence
A kiosk installed on site also lets you require a Presence Check-in: the user confirms their presence on site before playing, and bookings that are not honoured can be cancelled automatically.
