Your subscription rules gain new criteria: number of participants, guests, open booking, duration, time before the start, school and public holidays. And when several rules match a booking, the most specific one now applies, no longer the first one in the list.
Until now, a rule targeted calendars, days and a time range. To make a doubles match cheaper than a singles match, or to offer a last-minute rate, you had to juggle several subscriptions. And the order of the rates mattered: the first matching one won, even when it was less suitable.
The full step-by-step guide is in the documentation: /manager/users/rule-criteria.
A criterion adds a condition to a rule: the rule only applies to bookings that meet it. A few examples:
There are also Open booking, Booking duration, Period and Labels. Each list of rules only offers the criteria that make sense for it: restrictions, limits, booking and guest rates, custom time slots.
To add one, open the subscription in Administration›Users›Access Rights›Subscriptions, expand the rule, then click Add a criterion.

For rates, custom time slots and multiple quotas, a single rule applies to a booking: the most specific one, meaning the one with the most conditions. The number of conditions is shown on each collapsed rule.

With these three rates, a padel court booked on a Tuesday at 7 pm takes the Peak hours rate, a Saturday morning booked two hours before takes the Last minute rate, and every other booking the standard rate. The order of the list now only decides between two rules that are equally specific, and a message warns you when you save if that happens.
Take two rates with the same conditions: 8 credits for 60 minutes and 9 credits for 90 minutes.
Until now, only the first rate in the list counted, applied pro rata to the booked duration. A 90-minute booking therefore cost 12 credits, one and a half times the 60-minute rate, and the 90-minute rate was never used.
Now, the duration of the booking selects the rate:
The other conditions come before the duration: for a 90-minute booking in the evening, a "padel in the evening, 60 minutes" rate wins over a "padel, 90 minutes" rate.
